Dr Tekin was born ın 1962 in the City of Nicosia on the island of Cyprus
in the Mediterranean. His mother was a Special Constable for the British
Police before Cyprus gained independence and his father was a senior
Judge in Turkey before his retirement.

He was educated in Turkey at the Istanbul Galatasaray Lycee, which is
fully funded by the French Government. His ambition whilst at school was
to be a famous basketball player and played for the Galatasaray Basketball
team for 8 years between 1973 and 1981. From 1981 to 1988 he was a coach
for the team. He continues to be a fan of the Galatasaray Basketball
team.

After finishing Lycee, he attended Istanbul Cerrahpaşa University to
study Medicine where he qualified as a Doctor in 1987.

During his medical training he attended Lile University, France, where he
studied under Professor Charles Proy, who was the president of the
European Surgical Association. He specialised in Endocrinologic Surgery

From 1998 until 2005 he began working in the field of IVF with Professor
Loefer from the Harowitz Institute at the IVF Centres in Nicosia and the
Dr Pakize Tarzi IVF centre in Istanbul.

In 1999 he opened the first IVF donation centre in an Islamic country, he
remained with the clinic in Nicosia until 2004.

In 2005 he opened the Famagusta IVF clinic which recently was awarded the
International Quality Standard ISO 9001. The number of international
patients is growing and with this the success rate of positive pregnancy
tests and births. There is a dedicated team of professional staff from
both Turkey and UK dedicated to ensuring the highest possible standards of
care are delivered on a daily basis.

His passion and hobby is flying and is currently an amatuer pilot.
